Whether you're feeling nervous about getting into the outdoors or already know the best stories come from overnight tramps, this is the weekend for you!

Wild Wāhine is a weekend set aside especially for you to discover a love for being out in nature and sharing that experience with others. This is for Wāhine in Years 11–14 in 2026. The tramp will be in the Tararua Forest and will be an epic time for those heading out on their very first tramp as well as those who are old hands. This ngāhere (bush) is located just north of Wellington, so if you’d like a ride from Wellington, be sure to let us know!

At camp we open the Bible, and it may look a little different to how you’ve done it before as we will be in the great outdoors! We’ll discover that the Bible is so much more than an old book—it’s full of real stories that still speak into our lives today. It’s a space where you can ask the hard questions, hear what others think, and explore what God might be saying to you. There’s no pressure to have all the answers; just come curious.

The Tararua Forest is incredible—rich in biodiversity, full of stunning views, fun pockets to explore, and beautiful rivers. We’ll hike to a hut on the first day, where we’ll be based for both nights. Hut nights are the best! We’ll be cooking around a fire, playing cards, swapping stories, and more. On the second day, we’ll pack a day pack and spend the whole day exploring. This weekend will be filled with moving our bodies, learning new outdoor skills, sharing in rich kōrero (conversation) and storytelling, and exploring together all the questions and curiosities we have about our faith.
