Wild Wāhine is a significant weekend of community experienced as a small group of adventurers. This is for wāhine in years 11-14 in 2025. This second tramp for the year will be in the Tararua Forest. This ngā here (bush) is located just north of Wellington, so if you’d like a ride from Wellington be sure to let us know!
The Tararua Forest is incredible. Rich in biodiversity, incredible views, fun pockets to explore and more. We’ll hike to a hut the first day where we’ll be based for both nights. Hut nights are the best! We’ll be cooking around a fire, playing cards, swapping stories and more. On the second day, we’ll pack a day pack and have a whole day exploring! This weekend will be filled with moving our bodies, learning new outdoor skills, sharing in rich kōrero (conversation) and storytelling, and exploring together all the questions and curiosities we have about faith.
This will be a special long weekend, like no other Kings Birthday you’ve experienced! You may be daunted by the cold, but with a fire at the hut, extra warm clothes, and delicious food to keep you going, it’ll only add to the adventure of the weekend. With only 12 spaces available, this isn’t an adventure to be missed – register now!
