Southern GATHER is a camps leader training weekend… a chance to gather with people curious or passionate about youth camping ministry from all around the South Island. From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, we'll go through different movements - getting to know each other, prayer together, practical workshops, prompts to reflect, hearing about the camps coming up, as well as time to move our bodies in the outdoors.

This is for people who have been leading with us for years, as well as for those who are getting to know Scripture Union New Zealand’s camping ministry for the first time. As well as equipping you for camp leadership, you’ll get the opportunity to hear about our spring or summer camps and get involved if you’re interested!

This August our GATHER South weekend will be held at Takumatua – where we run Canterbury Wind n Water in the summer! We will have lots of time to connect in the outdoors... Maybe even get on the water for a kayak or a sail! GATHER South is an energising weekend exploring what it means to lead teenagers in adventure-based spaces, we hope to see you there!
