GATHER North is a camps leader training weekend… a chance to gather with people curious or passionate about youth camping ministry from all around the North Island.
From Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon, we'll go through different movements - getting to know each other, prayer together, practical workshops, prompts to reflect, hearing about the camps coming up, as well as time to move our bodies in the outdoors. This is for people who have been leading with us for years, as well as for those who are getting to know Scripture Union New Zealand’s camping ministry for the first time. As well as equipping you for camp leadership, you’ll get the opportunity to hear about our Summer camps and get involved if you’re interested!

This November our GATHER North weekend will be held on our beloved Pōnui Island which will really get you into the mindset for summer! The Chamberlin whānau for over 90 years have been generously offering their farm for us to run camps and gatherings on, so it’s land seeped with prayer and spiritual significance! And who can turn down a weekend away on a private island?! Conservation is also important to the Chamberlins which has brought Pōnui Island alive with native flora and fauna, which we’ll interact with as much as possible.

GATHER North is an energising weekend exploring what it means to lead teenagers in adventure-based spaces, we hope to see you there!
