Multi day wilderness journey for Year 12 and 13 students and our young adults

E3 for Year 12-13 school students (ages 17-18) is a
11 - day wilderness expedition in 3 amazing locations and E3 for Young Adults (ages 19-25) is a 7 - day expedition anchored by 2-3 days of tramping/hiking along with paddling on the amazing Lakes and mountain biking on nearby trails.Travelling as a small community through remote wilderness areas of Aotearoa New Zealand, each expedition is focussed on developing the character of participants and strengthening their connections with God, others, and creation. Through a combination of shared experiences (back-country cooking, participation in citizen science projects and practical conservation, facilitating decision-making), daily discussions and solo-time, we will explore how we fit into God's story and reflect on what this might mean for the next season of life.

What's E3 About?

E3 is a partnership between SUNZ, Adventure Specialties and A ROCHA NZ. E3 ministries believe that wilderness experiences are significant - helping us to understand ourselves better and deepening our relationships with others, with God, and with God's creation.

What will be involved?

E3 Expeditions involve a range of outdoor pursuits (Rafting, Sea Kayaking, Mountain-Biking, Tramping) as together we pilgrimage through remote wilderness areas of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Each journey looks different.

In the South Island you can choose to tramp through the Lewis Pass high country and undertake a multi-day rafting expedition down the Waiau Toa/Clarence River—or head to Otago to scale alpine passes in Aspiring National Park and sea-kayak across Lake Wanaka. In the North Island the journey travels through Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks from the mountains to the Tasman Sea.

Because our epic E3 expeditions only take a tight knit group, spots on E3 usually fill up quickly. We can only take about 12 campers on each trip so if you like the sound of E3 then make sure you register quick!
